"If it be the pleasure of Heaven
that my country shall require
the poor offering of my life,
the victim shall be ready. But while
I live, let me have a country,
or at least the hope of a country, -
and that a free country.
But whatever may be our fate, be
assured ... this declaration will
stand. It may cost treasure,
it may cost blood; but it will
stand, and it will richly compensate
for both ... And live or die,
survive or perish, I am for the
declaration. It is my living
sentiment, and, by the blessing of God,
it shall be my dying sentiment:
independence now, and independence
forever!"

Signing the Declaration of Independence
"Government,
even in its best state, is but a necessary evil;
in its worst
state, an intolerable one."
Thomas Paine
This
section of my page is for you who believe in America
and
the wisdom of our forefathers and fathers who died in
freedom's
cause. The institution of government has become
in
America an abortion of what was intended by our founders.
Socialism
rages in the halls of Congress, and many do not take
their
oath of "defending the Constitution" seriously. Rather,
they
deliberately shred it - word by word - to achieve a document
of
dependence - dependence on government for every need!
The
preamble of the Constitution clearly states that the
responsibilities
of the government created by us, the people, are to
"...provide
for the common defense, promote the general welfare,
secure
the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity,..."
Our
representatives today most often have the promote and provide
reversed,
and rarely concern themselves with securing our liberty.
"Fedgov"
now provides the general welfare, and sometimes promotes
the
common defense of the people.
A
term coined by a popular radio talk show host is 100% correct.
"Words
mean things."
I
believe our founders chose the words they used on purpose because
of
deep beliefs and principles, and a clear understanding of history.
There
are no confusing phrases that can be misconstrued, especially
if
you study the many other writings they left us. The intent is clear,
the
meaning, exact. The limitations on fedgov were binding - contrary
to
today's bulging bureaucracy that interferes with almost all areas
of
our lives without any controlling authority.
It
is, therefore, up to us - the vets, men and women who have defended
our
country, to again lead and voice our concerns as our freedoms are
violated
by bureaucrats and legislators. We must take time to write our
representatives
when legislation is bad for us, as well as when it is good
for
us - and most importantly - for America and the freedoms she
guaranteed
in the Constitution!
Take
time to write your reps on the issues addressed here, whether you
agree
with my position or not - let your rep know - so he/she will
legislate
according to "the people" rather than socialistic ideology!
I'll
get down off my soap box now, and list a couple issues we
should
be concerned with. I will also throw in a few quotes from
time
to time from our founders and other great Americans that I
have
found strength and truth in.
Issue #1
The American Sovereignty Restoration Act, H.R. 1146
Let
your representative know that the greatest danger to our nation is the
gradual
surrender of American sovereignty, piece by piece to various
international
organizations, like the U.N. As recent events have again clearly
shown,
it is no longer in our national interest to kowtow to these international
bureaucrats
who do not have the courage to uphold their own resolutions.
We
need to purge ourselves from this distructive alliance for the long term
well
being of America. H.R. 1146 has been reintroduced by Ron Paul (R-TX),
and
it will end our membership in this den of international socialists.
We will
no
longer have to use our forces for military action of their calling, only
for
action
required for our own defense and national interest, and we will not
be
subjected to international laws that only will curtail our freedoms.

US OUT! of the UN!<<<
"Patriotism
means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by
the
president...."

Part
II
Contact
Rep. Henry Hyde (R.-Ill.), the Chairman of the House Committee on
International
Relations, to urge him to call hearings and a vote on HR 1146.
Perhaps
your own representative would consider becoming a sponsor.
As
of this writing, there are four co-sponsors.
This
bill is immensely important to the sovereignty od our country which is
continuously
being pulling into damaging treaties and agreements with the
United
Nations. Think of it - do you want Americans to be tried in a world
court
led by unfriendly nations? Do you want American servicemen to take
orders
from foreign officers? We need to free ourselves from the bonds of
the
United Nations, and this bill will do it. I don't have time here
to go into all the
reasons
why it is important to leave the UN, but I will send you resources for
you
to
look up yourself, if you wish.

to tyrants is obedience to God."

Point of
interest regarding the flag burning issue
A year or so
ago, Iwon.com had a survey on flag burning.
54% of respondents
believe flag burning is wrong and should be against the law.
32% think it's
wrong, but a person has the right to do it
Regarding a
Constitutional Amendment protecting the flag,
64% would support
it
35% would oppose
it
The last question,
I think is a sad commentary - but true.
65% of respondents
feel Americans are less patriotic than they were 20 years ago.
27% don't believe
there has been a change one way or the other.
Only 7% think
we are more patriotic.
I don't know
how "scientific" the survey was, or how many people took it.
I put the results
here for you to think about - purely informational.
Thanks for
visiting this page.
I hope you
feel as I do, that these issues must be won.
Contact
your Congressman/woman.
Thanks.
May
I also be so bold as to urge support for President Bush
and
the War on Terrorism. ALL terrorists must be brought
to
Justice, or killed! There is NO gray area!
